ABOUT

Anthony Cochran, owner of ACD New York, believes that the best interiors are achieved through a genuine, open, and strong client/designer relationship.

"The greater the trust, the better the result.  The ideal situation is for a client to experience the WOW! factor; to return home at the end of an installation to find their favorite music playing, the favorite champagne chilling, and their favorite scented candle filling the air.  Clients who are willing to let me in get the greatest reward."

Cochran studied interior design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. But, he considers his most valuable education to have been the hands-on experience he acquired working as a designer at the notable firms of John Saladino, Victoria Hagan, and Stephen Mallory and as a senior style editor at Martha Stewart Living. Cochran continues to both expand and refine his style, which he defines more as a feel than a look.

"I am not confined by a particular aesthetic. I find an interior that mixes modern with traditional to be more interesting and inviting. Even if the agenda is very grand, rooms need to feel approachable and, above all, functional. When you’re young, all you care about is what something looks like. Over the years I have learned that comfort and beauty are not incompatible; in fact, the combination is essential.”

Through extensive work experience in every area of the design field over the past fifteen years, Cochran has acquired a wealth of knowledge about design and decorating, sourcing, manufacturing, and management. As Co-Founder and Creative Director of Q Collection, a visionary company in anticipating the desire for furnishings that are elegant, contemporary and environmentally-friendly, Cochran has overseen every aspect of developing and launching furniture and fabric collections for retail and trade markets. Cochran applies the same discipline to ACD New York, devoting equal and exquisite attention to every detail of his sophisticated high-end residential projects.
